Took the train from Dublin to Belfast this morning. It’s a comfortable ride of about two hours. This year, for the first time, we’re staying at the Titanic Hotel. It’s only been open a year and is next to the Titanic Museum in the former offices of Harlan and Wolff, the builders of the Titanic. It’s only about two blocks from PRONI making it an ideal location. As you can imagine, the theme is everything Titanic from the doors to the wallpaper, and even the bathrooms. It is a lovely place.
The Titanic Quarter is across the river from downtown Belfast which can be reached by walking over a pedestrian bridge or by a quick taxi ride. We made a quick trip into the City and walked back to the hotel.
A number of participants arrived a day early (to adjust to the time change) and six of us went to a pub for dinner. We returned so everyone could get a good nights sleep. The program starts tomorrow evening with a group dinner at the hotel.
Happy Hunting!
